"Solfran" International Music School

This unique Music School has been opened in 1990 byMarguerite France, a French 1st prizewinner violonist and violist. The school offers a complete French-style musical education, perfectly adapted to all students, from Kindergarden age to adults as well. Using the same teaching methods as in Europe, dedicated teachers, who are at the same time experienced professional soloists, follow the students according to their own level and own rhythm. They stress the importance of acquiring not only mere "techniques" but - most importantly - a real LOVE FOR MUSIC. From the earliest stages, the students are integrated into small ensembles or a chamber orchestra, in order to give the young musicians the indispensable habit of playing in public, doing 2 or 3 concerts in a year.

Solfran offers classes in: solfege, piano, violin, cello, double-bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, trumpet, trombon, saxophon, guitar, vocal, recorder, youth ensemble, jazz ensemble, chamber music, French Chanson, and more!

WHAT MAKES SOLFRAN ORIGINALITY

Solfege is the inescapable beginning of any solid musical education. This is why at Solfran International Music School, studients learn to "read" music (notes are cherries dancing on the stave), at the same time they learn to read books. Solfege is not only sightreading sounds and rhythms. It is also singing and it is fun !
Solfran offers a great choice of instrumental classes (see the details here ). Once they have a sufficient level, all the instrumentalists (strings and winds) are integrated in a small chamber ensemble. Participation of the students is encouraged as soon as possible, as it gives them a good sense of rhythm and musicality. The teaching languages are French, English or Japanese.
